Soft Red (Rubbers)
Soft Red Rubbers are traditional handmade bricks found throughout England and the wider UK, originally produced by various brickworks from the 17th and 18th centuries onwards. Known for their soft texture and highly workable nature, their face can vary from smooth to lightly creased, with colour tones ranging from warm orange through to deep red. Often referred to as Red Rubbers due to their ability to be rubbed and shaped by hand into ornate detailing, they are particularly well suited to face and feature work, including arches, window surrounds, doorways and other decorative brickwork requiring authentic period character.
